On 25 September, the project took center stage during the session “Nourishing Tomorrow: Young People, Culture and Food Sustainability”, dedicated to exploring how art can become a powerful tool for change, engaging young people and communities in food sustainability and climate action.
Through a collective presentation featuring Stefania Inverso from BJCEM (Association Biennale des Jeunes Créateurs de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée), art curator Elisa Lenhard from Reattiva – Mani Tese, and food designer Yue Liu, we shared the experiences and outcomes of the “Arts Feed Collective Residencies”, which took place between February and May 2026 in five project cities: Milan, Almere, Brașov, Thessaloniki and Paphos.
Participants attending the session also had the opportunity to visit an exhibition featuring artworks created during the residencies, including Yue Liu’s work from the Brașov residency and Olga Sosiura’s work from the Milan residency.
The session also looked back at last year’s School of Artivism, a free online learning programme promoted by BJCEM, in which young artists explored how art can drive ecological and social change.
The event also marked the opportunity to premiere the trailer for another Feed Your Future initiative: “Urban Bites”. Curated by Rede DLBC Lisboa, this initiative involved the creation of two series of ten street art performances in cities across Europe.
By combining artistic residencies, creative street actions and other opportunities for public engagement, Feed Your Future continues to explore innovative ways to connect food sustainability with people’s everyday lives!
Thanks to Slow Food for making this inspiring opportunity for collective exchange possible, as well as all the speakers and participants who contributed their experiences, ideas and perspectives.
