The first 10 videos showcasing the public art performances supported in 2025 through the “Urban Bites” Open Call are now available.
Promoted as part of the Feed Your Future project by Rede DLBC Lisboa, the open call invited artists, creative professionals and civil society organisations to develop public art projects aimed at raising awareness of food sustainability.
Through performances, installations and participatory experiences, the selected projects explored different dimensions of food sustainability while bringing local communities into the artistic process.
The projects addressed a wide range of topics, from urban food harvesting and consumption to recycling and food waste, while encouraging audiences to reflect on how food is produced, shared and experienced.
The projects were implemented across six European cities: Milan · Almere · Barcelona · Brașov · Lisbon · Thessaloniki. Each project developed its own approach, responding to local contexts and communities while exploring the connections between food, sustainability and everyday life.
Created by the funded artists themselves, the videos document their artistic processes, performances and engagement with local communities.
Together, they form a collection that demonstrate how artistic practices can open up new conversations among artists, young people, and communities around food sustainability and climate action.
